Listen up 2010 graduates of the Chef’s Training Program. It’s that time again: Vegetarian Times just posted the details for its annual Chefs’ Challenge. The contest seeks winning vegetarian recipes in the categories of appetizers, soups, entrées, side dishes, and desserts.
Each year our graduating CTP students enter, and each year at least one or more of our graduates are represented among the winners. Let’s keep the tradition alive. While Natural Gourmet’s winning record is a source of pride for the school, it will also do great things for your career.
Winners will be featured in the January 2011 issue of Vegetarian Times. They will also receive $300 cash, a $100 gift card from American Express, and “goodies” from contest sponsor Green & Black’s Chocolate. An auspicious start to your culinary career, no?
Submissions are due by May 1. Vegetarian Times will choose 15 finalists (5 from each category), from which VT readers will vote to select the 5 winners. Recipes will be judged on their originality, healthfulness, taste, ease of preparation, and presentation.
Details for the contest can be found at http://vegetariantimes.com/chefschallenge. I am a frequent contributor to the magazine, so if have any questions, need advice, or want me to review your entry, I’d be happy to do so. Now get to work!
